THE CARIBBEAN POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE (CAPRI) AND PREAL LAUNCHES THE FIRST REPORT CARD ON EDUCATION IN JAMAICA.
Held at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston, on January 21st., CaPRI co-executive director Damien King opened the meeting, and introduced Jeffrey Puryear, PREAL co-director, and Grace McLean, chief education officer of the ministry of education. CaPRI research associate Grace-Camille Munroe introduced guest speaker Simon Clarke, former UNESCO Caribbean director.
Dawn Sewell Lawson, CaPRI lead consultant, presented the findings of the report card. After a question-and-answer session, Senator and CaPRI co-executive director Cristopher Tufton provided closing comments. Approximately 40 educators, political leaders and media representatives attended the event.
