Mission
Improve the quality, equity, and efficiency of education in Latin America by helping governments and civil society to promote informed debate on education policy, identify and disseminate best practices, and monitor progress toward improvement.
Objectives
- Involve civil society in education reform;
- Monitor progress toward improving education; and
- Enrich the thinking of decision-makers and opinion leaders on education policy.
Institutional Sponsorship
PREAL is a joint program of the Inter-American Dialogue in Washington, D.C., and the Corporation for Development Research (CINDE) in Santiago, Chile. It is co-directed by Jeffrey M. Puryear at the Inter-American Dialogue and Marcela Gajardo at CINDE.
